Are you ready for a new Birmingham? Would you like to see Birmingham set the standard for cities that build sustainable jobs that employ our citizens without destroying our air? Are you eager to see communities where families are safe and secure, and able to walk with their children to their nearby school...a school that fully prepares those children with 21st century skills? Can you imagine a mass transit system that gets our citizens from those communities to those jobs reliably and affordably, helping us reach the goal of clean, healthy air?
We can do it. Some may say it’s not realistic to think so, but I say it’s necessary. We must begin today. The key is that you can’t demand of potential partners all that you want and not recognize their legitimate needs in return. We must be prepared to work together out of our common needs and shared hopes to move Birmingham forward.
